About Her
People would definitely describe me as an extrovert. I love being across what's going on in the world and listen to the radio or podcasts when I'm doing any task that doesn't need my full concentration. I can talk to almost anyone about almost anything. I love routine and my life is very organised with time devoted to my part time job, my friends, family and interests (I'm a singer and musician and am involved at my church and sing in a community choir). Another strong interest is comedy - that’s the main thing I go to see live. As I also follow politics pretty closely, political satire is my favourite. I’m a lifelong non-drinker and have never been into the pub and club scene.
I work part time in the professional job I’ve worked in since my 20s. I have one child who is recently married and largely off my hands, but I still try and attend his cricket matches and NRL refereeing as his dad would have done. I miss the feeling of being part of a team and planning things together. I’m spending a lot of time planning and taking a 4-6 week overseas trip each year. The rest of the time I’m trying to keep fit (swimming in summer and hiking in winter - love the snow, but green skier at best).
About Her Ideal Match
I love people who are enthusiastic about life and are passionate about their interests. We must be able to make each other laugh. I would like to meet someone who shares at least some of my interests. The main interest my late husband and I shared was music - as he was an audio engineer and I’m a musician. A strong interest in music is probably a must. My late husband was a strong follower of NRL and cricket (as is my son) so I have absorbed a fair bit of that through osmosis and am happy to go to games. I probably prefer someone with a professional background but this is not a dealbreaker. If you have very time consuming hobbies that don't interest me - motor bike trips and fishing come to mind - that would probably be a dealbreaker. I’m particularly interested to find someone to travel with, so if they are still working it’s important that they can access a reasonable amount of leave each year for the next few years. They need to be fit enough to travel and do a reasonable amount of walking on those trips. I prefer that the person lives in the Newcastle area as it's unlikely I would ever move very far from my son. I prefer someone as close to my own age as possible so that our memories of growing up are similar. You must be a widower from a long and happy marriage. Must be a non-smoker and a light drinker.
